SNES Side Pocket
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Side Pocket on the SNES is a Data East billiards title from 1993, cartridge only, no manual or box. Data East published it for the Super Nintendo after the game had already built a following in arcades and on the NES, which meant the SNES version was not a debut so much as a graduation. The cart label runs that classic neon-pink script over a photograph of a green felt table, publisher logo tucked clean in the corner. Solid condition, plays.
Data East was one of the more underrated third-party publishers working the SNES library in the early 1990s. The company had real arcade DNA. "BurgerTime," "Bad Dudes," "Robocop." Side Pocket was their cleanest sports translation on the platform. The 1993 SNES market was crowded with heavy hitters. "NBA Jam" had just dropped. "NHL '94" was incoming. "Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball" was eating shelf space. Side Pocket held its own in that company by doing something none of those did: a focused, single-sport simulation that rewarded patience and English over button mashing. Nine-ball, pocket game, and trick shot mode each play differently enough that the cart had actual replay depth, which was not a given in 1993 for a sports title at that price point.
Pool as pure geometry, stripped of chalk dust, rebuilt in sixteen bits and Mode 7 patience.
This copy is cart only, which is the condition most surviving SNES billiards titles arrive in thirty-three years out. The label is intact and readable, no heavy peeling or water damage visible at the edges. The cart shell has the minor scuffs you expect from something that saw real use, nothing structural. Plays clean. If you pick it up, check the label at the lower right corner near the cart edge. That is the first place Side Pocket labels show stress from repeated insertion, and this one will tell you exactly how hard it was worked.

The Nintendo Archive
This is part of Nintendo's 90s run, the era that built the shop's back wall. Nintendo shipped cartridges, plush, promotional oddities, and packaging that most buyers threw out on the way to the game. What survived, mostly by accident, ends up here. Every piece is cleaned, photographed, and listed one at a time. Nothing on the archive shelf is a duplicate.
