SNES NFL Quarterback Club 96 in Box
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
NFL Quarterback Club 96 is an Acclaim Sports release for the Super Nintendo, still in its original box, and by the tag and print date on the shrink, this copy comes from the 1995 production window. The cover puts Steve Young front and center in the red and gold, dropping back behind a line, and it is one of the cleaner cover compositions from the SNES football catalog. CIB condition, box intact.
Acclaim went hard at the football market through the mid-1990s, and NFL Quarterback Club 96 was the peak of that push. Madden NFL had locked up EA's simulation lane, so Acclaim leaned the other direction: faster, more arcade-pitched, licensed NFLPA so real player names were in the game, and built around a rotating cover strategy that put the era's biggest quarterbacks in front. Steve Young was the right face for a 1995 release. He had just finished the 1994 season with six touchdown passes in Super Bowl XXIX, a 49-26 win over the Chargers in Miami, and was operating at the top of his career. The game shipped into stores the same fall that the 1995 NFL season opened, which means it was in the hands of kids the same weeks Young and his core weapons were still relevant weekly names. The 16-bit football slate that year was genuinely competitive: Madden 96, GameDay, this. NFL Quarterback Club 96 held its own in the arcade lane.
The football game that rewarded pocket awareness and timing routes before the rush arrived.
This copy is boxed and shows the shrink seal still present on the exterior. The box corners are the detail to check first: Acclaim boxes from this period were thinner stock than Nintendo's first-party releases and the corners show wear faster. If this one has stayed square, that matters for display value. The cartridge label should be clean given the shrink, but verify the spine of the box where fading hits earliest on SNES third-party titles. Run a finger along the shrink seal seam on the bottom edge and confirm the plastic is still bonded, not lifting.
OWNER VERIFY: release year confirmed as 1995 (NFL Quarterback Club 96, Acclaim, SNES); verify against cart label and box copyright line.

The Nintendo Archive
This is part of Nintendo's 90s run, the era that built the shop's back wall. Nintendo shipped cartridges, plush, promotional oddities, and packaging that most buyers threw out on the way to the game. What survived, mostly by accident, ends up here. Every piece is cleaned, photographed, and listed one at a time. Nothing on the archive shelf is a duplicate.
