SNES ESPN National Hockey Night in Box
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
ESPN National Hockey Night on SNES came out in 1994 from Sony Imagesoft, complete in box. This is a 16-bit hockey title that went all in on broadcast presentation at a time when most sports games were still figuring out how to put a scorebug on screen. The Sony Imagesoft imprint alone dates this to a narrow production window: Sony's gaming division was active on SNES in the early-to-mid 90s before the PlayStation absorbed the company's console attention entirely.
1994 was a complicated year for NHL hockey. The league was riding the momentum of major U.S. market expansion, with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and Florida Panthers both having just completed their first seasons. Wayne Gretzky was still a King. The Rangers ended their 54-year Cup drought that June, and that championship is baked into the cultural backdrop of this cartridge's release timing. ESPN had the broadcast rights and the brand muscle to push the presentation angle hard: the in-game commentary, the score overlays, the team select screen all leaned into the network's signature style. The box art carries logos from the Kings, Rangers, Blackhawks, and a handful of other franchises, several of which have since been redesigned or retired entirely. That front panel is a reference sheet for early-90s NHL visual identity that no graphic database quite replicates.
Sony Imagesoft's two-season shot at dethroning EA, complete in box and faster than you remember.
This copy comes complete in box, which is the condition that separates a shelf piece from a gaming artifact. CIB SNES sports titles from this period shed their manuals and inner trays fast, especially hockey titles, which moved through rental stores at a higher rate than the marquee franchises. Check the box corners for compression creasing, which is the typical failure point on SNES long boxes that spent time stacked in storage. The cartridge label should sit flat with no peeling at the edges, and the inner tray, if present, should hold the cart without lateral wobble.
OWNER VERIFY: CIB component completeness, including manual and inner tray presence.

The Nintendo Archive
This is part of Nintendo's 90s run, the era that built the shop's back wall. Nintendo shipped cartridges, plush, promotional oddities, and packaging that most buyers threw out on the way to the game. What survived, mostly by accident, ends up here. Every piece is cleaned, photographed, and listed one at a time. Nothing on the archive shelf is a duplicate.
