90s Color Block Sweater Vest Size Small
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Color block sweater vests from the early-to-mid 1990s hit a particular peak that hasn't been replicated. This one is knit construction, size Small, with asymmetric red, yellow, and teal panels cut in hard geometric blocks against a black ribbed V-neck. Ribbed armholes. A ribbed waistband that pulls the whole composition tight.
The color block moment in 90s knitwear wasn't accidental. It tracked directly with what was happening across sportswear and street fashion at the same time. Coogi was running wild color into sweater structure from below. DKNY and Donna Karan were blocking primary geometry from above. The mall brands meeting in the middle produced pieces that aged better than anyone expected. The sweater vest format leaned into the layering habits of the decade: over a long-sleeve thermal, over a flannel, or over a white Oxford worn open. Teal as a dominant accent color in knitwear peaks hard between 1991 and 1996, which brackets this piece comfortably. Red and yellow alongside it, in hard-edged blocks rather than gradient or stripe, is the pattern language of that exact stretch of the decade. The Mondrian reference isn't a stretch. That compositional logic was genuinely in the culture, showing up in Calvin Klein runway pieces and in the mass-market sweaters that followed two seasons later.
Color theory as the entire value proposition, knit into the fabric before fast fashion flattened everything.
This copy is in strong shape. The knit body holds its structure without pilling across the panels, and the ribbed trim at the V-neck and hem hasn't stretched out. The color saturation is still punchy, which is the first thing that goes when these get washed hard over decades. Size Small runs fitted, so measure chest and length before committing. Check the waistband rib on the interior hem: the seam where the rib meets the body knit will tell you how many cycles this thing has actually been through.

The 90s Rack
The 90s rack is where most of the shop's apparel lives. Team tees, tour shirts, promotional jackets, wrestling pullovers, movie tie-in prints that nobody saved on purpose. 90s production runs were large and the survivors are the ones that dodged the rag bin. Each garment is measured flat, photographed on a neutral ground, and listed against the tag size.
