90s Florida Sweater Size XL
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
White crewneck, gold embroidered palm trees, FLORIDA spelled out in spaced block letters across the chest. That is the whole pitch, and it is enough. This is a 1990s Florida souvenir sweater, size XL, and it is operating well above the tourist trap tier. The metallic thread on those palm trees catches light differently than flat embroidery. There is an actual shimmer when the piece moves, the kind of detail that separates boutique resort stock from boardwalk filler.
Florida souvenir apparel had its own design language in the 1990s, and the palm tree plus block-letter formula was the dominant dialect. The better versions came out of small regional manufacturers supplying gift shops on the Gulf Coast, the Keys, and the Atlantic corridor around Cocoa Beach and Daytona. Those shops moved volume through winter tourist season, which meant the quality tier mattered. Repeat customers from the Midwest and Northeast came back every year and could tell the difference between a screen-print iron-on and real embroidery on a solid-weight crewneck. What survived into the collector market thirty-plus years later tends to be the upper end of that production run. This piece reads as the upper end. The spacing on the lettering is deliberate, not rushed. Gold thread on white ground is a clean combination that has aged without going gaudy.
Three palms and a state name, the kind of souvenir wear that survives because it never screamed.
The copy here is XL, and the 1990s XL tends to run closer to a modern large, so measure before assuming. The crewneck collar sits high on this construction, which is consistent with early-to-mid 90s resort wear. No significant fading on the white ground that we can see, and the gold embroidery thread has not frayed at the palm frond tips. Pull the piece flat and inspect the stitch density along the outer edge of the FLORIDA lettering. That seam line is where wear shows first on embroidered resort pieces, and it will tell you everything you need to know about how this sweater was stored.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm production era (early vs. late 1990s) against interior label manufacturer and country-of-origin tag.

The 90s Rack
The 90s rack is where most of the shop's apparel lives. Team tees, tour shirts, promotional jackets, wrestling pullovers, movie tie-in prints that nobody saved on purpose. 90s production runs were large and the survivors are the ones that dodged the rag bin. Each garment is measured flat, photographed on a neutral ground, and listed against the tag size.
