1999 Racing Champions NASCAR #26 Johnny Benson Cheerios 1/64 Ford Taurus
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Racing Champions produced this 1/64 scale #26 Johnny Benson Cheerios Ford Taurus in 1999, at the peak of the brand's die-cast dominance in the NASCAR collectibles market. Small scale, full livery detail, and the Cheerios yellow-and-blue scheme reproduced tight enough that you can read the sponsor mark on the hood. This is the format that filled hobby shop pegboards and track-day vendor tables from coast to coast during the late Cup Series boom.
1999 was a dense year in Winston Cup racing. Jeff Gordon was defending his 1998 championship, Dale Earnhardt was still campaigning hard with RCR, and the mid-pack grid was stacked with cars that had real sponsor money and real identity. Johnny Benson ran the #26 for Roush Racing that season, and the Cheerios deal gave that car a paint scheme that stood out in the field. General Mills was in the Cup Series as a primary sponsor, which was the kind of mainstream consumer brand crossover that defined late-1990s NASCAR's reach into American households. Roush was already fielding multiple competitive cars by then, Mark Martin and Jeff Burton among the headliners, and Benson's #26 ran in that stable. Racing Champions held the NASCAR die-cast license hard through this period, moving enormous volume in both 1:64 and 1:24 scales, and the 1999 production run caught that market at full height before the hobby shifted toward Action and RCCA premium pieces in the early 2000s.

This copy appears complete with the Ford Taurus body molding, rubber tires, and the Cheerios hood graphic. At 1:64, the paint-to-plastic ratio on Racing Champions product from this run is sharp when the piece has been stored right. Look at the roof panel and door graphic registration before committing to a display grade. Check the axle posts on the undercarriage for any shelf warping, and run a finger along the roof edge where the windshield trim meets the body.
