The piece

WWF WrestleFest promotional T-shirt, medium, dated 1991. This is not retail merchandise. WrestleFest was the four-player arcade cabinet from Technos Japan, the same studio that built WWF Superstars before it, and the promo apparel that surrounded the game's rollout went to arcade operators, regional distributors, and contest winners. It did not hit mall kiosks or Sears racks. A shirt like this was a handshake between the WWF licensing machine and the people actually running the cabinets.

1991 is a loaded moment to pull from. Hulk Hogan had just dropped the title to the Undertaker at Survivor Series and then reclaimed it days later at This Tuesday in Texas, which aired on PPV on December 3rd of that year. The Ultimate Warrior was in the middle of a contract dispute. Ric Flair had jumped from the NWA with the "real world's championship" belt in tow and was working WWF house shows by the fall. WrestleFest the arcade game put Hogan, Warrior, Ted DiBiase, Mr. Perfect, The Legion of Doom, Sgt. Slaughter, and the Undertaker on one cabinet, which meant the promo materials around it were pulling from the deepest WWF roster in years. The Royal Rumble mode and the Saturday Night's Main Event mode gave it replay legs that Superstars didn't have, which made arcade operators want to push the game hard. Promo shirts were part of that push.

Four-player cabinet energy, promo-run scarcity, the exact roster that owned every arcade in 1991.

This copy is a medium, which puts it in the usable range for most collectors who want to wear it, not just hang it. Single-stitch construction is standard for the period. Look at the sleeve hems and the collar for the print bleed you expect from a one-color or two-color screen press on a budget promo run. The graphic registration will tell you more about the production tier than anything else. Thirty-five years on, the ink fade and collar rib tension on a piece like this track the storage history more honestly than the tags do. Run a finger along the collar ribbing and check whether it's pulling or still sitting flat before you assess condition.

OWNER VERIFY: Confirm the 1991 production year and the WrestleFest game-promo distribution context against any surviving tag copy, inner label, or screen-print copyright mark on the garment.

WWF's 90s stretch ran hot and strange. Shirts, magazines, and figures came out of a locker-room-to-retail pipeline with zero prestige intent. The ones that made it through are creased, foxed, sun-hit, and still loud. Keeping them intact is the job. We document what survived and photograph it in the condition it arrived in.

1991 WWF WrestleFest arcade-game promo tee. Size Medium.

Hulkamania into the Hogan/Warrior crossover window. WWF WrestleFest was Technos's follow-up to WWF Superstars in the arcades, four-player cabinet, Royal Rumble mode, the roster printed on the side art (Hogan, Warrior, Savage, Ted DiBiase, Demolition, Big Boss Man, Mr. Perfect, Earthquake). Promo tees like this one went out to arcade operators, distributors, and a handful of contest winners, not to retail. Event-promo apparel from this stretch is thin on the ground, we don't see WrestleFest promo tees often.
